Elal releases a new song called "Or Ole" which is the result of a collaboration with a world music creator named Sangit • "This period is very challenging", she says, "but also opens the heart to other things"

The last period is not easy for Corinne Allal.

Her mother passed away on Rosh Hashanah, the corona closed the world of culture.

"This is a time that opens the heart to other things," she says.

And these other things are for example a new song called "Rising Light", which is very far from the usual style of Elal.

The song was born out of a collaboration with a creator and composer from the world music genre named Sangit (born Dotan Segal).

The lyrics to the song were written by Noa Golan, Sangit's wife, and the melody is by Sangit and Leah Shabbat, and it deals with an inner and spiritual journey in search of peace and inspiration.

"Sangit and I have known each other for more than a year," says Elal.

"He would make me sound at my acoustic shows, and occasionally play me things he creates. About six months ago, in the first closure he sent me a song he wrote with his wife, I heard it and said, 'Wow what a beauty, I want to learn it.

' He sent me a recording of the song, which he sang.

I recorded myself singing the song in the studio, but did not like the result.

It did not excite me.

So I went back to the recording of Singhit Sher, and realized what was wrong.

I sang it too beautifully.

Singhit came down in tones, shortened places, the way he sang made me figure out how to sing it.

He told me 'Corinne, it's not rock' n 'roll.

Then I realized that there is rock 'n' roll and there is world music.

To do something that is easy for me is the most boring, so I recorded again - and that was it. "

According to Sangit, "Meeting Corinne for me is first and foremost a meeting of a heart. I met a fascinating woman and an amazing musician. I played the song to her, and she loved it. I wrote it three years ago, we recorded it during the first closure, and here it comes in the second closure."

According to Elal (65), "The last period is very challenging. I do a lot of things I would not do in another period. I work with a group of girls, not singers, whom I teach to sing the Book of Ecclesiastes in the last year. Yesterday we performed Zoom to Emek Hefer, and it was Amazing. We did a few shows like that during the Corona period.

"Along with that I went through hard days, my mom passed away on Rosh Hashanah.

But those days will pass.

There have also been epidemics in the past.

This thought can help change everyday life.

I'm busy doing without thinking.

There is currently no thought of an album, just make and create.

I make a lot of electronic music, I have a studio at home, and it's more comfortable to work like that. "

The cultural world has suffered a severe blow in this crisis.

"Culture is the first thing that closes. I refer not only to cultural figures and artists, but also to an audience that needs culture, that is hurt and that something needs to be done for it, that it will be good and that it will not only show cooking shows when the refrigerator is empty. I really think of these people, the audience The goal for which we exist. "
