(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, OCTOBER 22 - The agreement between China and the Holy See on the appointment of bishops has been officially extended for another two years.
The agreement had been widely announced and today the Holy See defined this agreement "of fundamental ecclesial and pastoral value" and stressed that so far, that is, starting from 2018, "it has been positive, thanks to good communication and collaboration between the parties".
China and the Vatican "will remain in close consultation and communication to continuously improve their relations", said the spokesman for the foreign ministry, Zhao Lijia from Beijing.
