(ANSA) - PARIS, NOV 17 - "The number of depressed people doubled between the end of September and the beginning of November": Santé Publique France noted this, according to what was announced at a press conference this evening by its general manager, Jerome Salomon.
"We must all be attentive to the consequences of the epidemic on the mental health of the population", said Salomon, according to whom the doubling occurred "on the whole population between late September and early November".
The phenomenon, however, was "particularly marked among people with economic problems or with a history of psychiatric disorders".
"We can all feel anxious - he added - there are indications to take care of yourself, stay in touch with your entourage, help those in need, not stay glued to the news all day, limit the consumption of alcohol and tobacco, do not hesitate to consult a doctor".
