At the Teatro Costanzi a New Year's Eve without ballet, but the magical atmosphere created by Tchaikovsky's music with the Nutcracker Suite, a cult of the Christmas period, will not be missing.
The appointments broadcast by the Costanzi Theater thanks to the free streaming continue with the "Teatro Digitale" program on the official YouTube channel of the Theater (https://www.youtube.com/user/operaroma) and this time also on Ansa.it in the context of of the ANSA project for culture.
On Thursday 31 December at 11.00 the New Year's Concert entirely dedicated to Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij will be broadcast in live streaming under the direction of Maestro Roberto Abbado.
Under the baton of the maestro, the Rome Opera Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's music.
The program includes Polonaise from the opera Evgenij Onegin, Romeo and Juliet Ouverture-fantasia and The Nutcracker, "suite" from the ballet.
"The program includes - says master Abbado - three masterpieces by Tchaikovsky: set between the brilliant Polonaise from his renowned work Evgenij Onegin and the famous Suite from the Nutcracker, there is the Romeo and Juliet overture-fantasy which also takes on a religious significance. Tchaikovsky himself writes 'I wanted to express the loneliness of a soul whose spirit ascends to heaven' ".
