One month, almost to the day, from the first round of municipal elections, the former head of state is finally involved in the Parisian elections, confirming his decision to formalize his support for Rachida Dati, during his public meeting March 9.

According to information from the Parisian, confirmed by Le Figaro, Nicolas Sarkozy will therefore be present at the public meeting of the head of the list Les Républicains, which will be held on Monday March 9 at the Salle Gaveau, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The event should be the only one of this magnitude during the campaign, the former Keeper of the Seals preferring for the moment smaller trips and meetings in cafes.
Public support for Nicolas Sarkozy has long been sought by Rachida Dati. Besides the symbolism of receiving the approval of the one she sees as her political mentor, the mayor LR of the 7th arrondissement hopes to see this support reflected in her polls, which place her in second position behind the outgoing mayor Anne Hidalgo, at 20 % of voting intentions. Polls that have already evolved in a very encouraging way for the right since the start of the campaign.
The support of Nicolas Sarkozy is not the only event from which Rachida Dati's campaign can hope to benefit. Besides the withdrawal of Benjamin Griveaux this Friday February 14 in the morning, the candidate of the Republicans will also benefit from the public support of François Baroin. Mayor LR de Troyes, whom many already see wearing the colors of the right in 2022, will appear alongside Rachida Dati on February 25, at a political café in the 11th arrondissement.
