Media outlets in France reported on Sunday that the Louvre Museum in the capital Paris, the famous art museum in the world, has closed its doors to visitors following the alarm of the Corona virus.

The media reported that employees had a special meeting in the morning due to concerns about the virus. Initially, it was feared that one of the employees, or a visitor to the museum, was infected with the virus, but official reports denied this possibility.

The museum itself published an official statement on the website which reads: "A special session on the health risks posed by the Corona virus was held under the direction of the Ministry of Health and delayed the opening of the museum. At this time we cannot open the museum to visitors. We apologize to the visitors."
