Due to the Democratic presidential race and the Corona epidemic, Israeli elections have received relatively little exposure in the media around the world

In contrast to the previous round of voting, the elections in Israel this time seem to have received much less attention in the American media.

In most major newspaper gates - including the New York Times, The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today - there was no mention of voter day in the country. Not only does the fact that this is a third round appear to have led to little interest in the election, but the many news in the United States itself - most notably "Big Tuesday" in the Democratic primaries and the spread of corona disease - are those whose titles were dedicated.

Still, there were some newspapers that chose to emphasize the issue. The Washington Post reported on the cover of "Netanyahu's comeback, which did not achieve an absolute majority." The paper added that the prime minister "is in a better position to form a government."

On the West Coast, in the Los Angeles Times, they noted at the gate that "Netanyahu claims victory in elections." The New York Times, perhaps the most important newspaper in the United States, did not give the elections a seat on the cover, but on the newspaper's site, they published a deep commentary with seven conclusions from Israeli voters' day. There, "but he may still be unable to form a government."

Against the backdrop of the Corona crisis, European elections have not placed the media coverage in Israel either. The British Guardian referred to Prime Minister Netanyahu's attempts to achieve a majority of 61. The British Daily Telegraph also referred to the fact that Netanyahu "declared a 'huge victory' in the election but still has no majority."

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz was the first of the world leaders to greet Netanyahu yesterday. In a Twitter tweet he wrote: "Sincere congratulations on the clear victory."
