While new clues appear that compromise Ignacio Bertolotti (28) as the main suspect in the murder of his father, the plateau architect Guillermo Marcelo Bertolotti (60), continues the void in the investigation on a key question: what would have been the reason that led to alleged parricide and the attempted murder of his mother, Nancy Santoro (62), last Sunday night in the marriage home located in the La Loma neighborhood of La Plata.
The only defendant refused to testify and the prosecutor obtained the testimonial contribution of a cousin who said Bertolotti "handled weapons and had a Golck." The relative was called several times by the accused, after 22.47, when they attacked the marriage.
In that house of 29 almost corner 41, Bertolotti received seven shots and his wife five. It was a brutal attack. It was just under 23 and the roar of the shots alarmed the entire block. There were several calls to 911 and in a few minutes the area was full of patrol cars and ambulances .
Ignacio said he was in the bathroom when the tragedy began. He told the police that they arrived at the scene, that his mother heard noises coming from the bottom of the property and that he then went to a living room and found his parents injured. In those first minutes of uncertainty it seemed that it was another case of insecurity like those recorded in Buenos Aires capital every day. The latest statistics show that there are on average more than five violent robberies per day .
The victims were taken to the San Martin hospital with serious injuries. The architect died in the morning and his partner recovered in an intermediate therapy room.

But the case took an unexpected path: the prosecutor Juan Martín Menucci requested the arrest of "Nacho" Bertolotti, because he considered that he was the author of the shots. In the first section of the investigation, he had gathered these elements to support the accusation of “aggravated homicide due to the aggravated bond and injuries”: in the VW Gol that parked at the door before going to visit his parents there was a box to store a 9 mm Taurus gun. A weapon with these characteristics and brand was kidnapped at the crime scene. I was with the charger on and empty. And the pods found on the property corresponded to a revolver like that.
A police officer who arrived at La Loma on a patrol car said the professional was able to say "it was my son who shot." That data appears as testimony in the file.
Less than 24 hours after the crime, the judge of Guarantees, Guillermo Atencio, confirmed the arrest of Bertolotti, who is still staying in the mayor's office.
According to judicial sources, on Thursday the dermotest test would be practiced, which would determine if the boy detonated a weapon. It is a skill that allows to verify the presence of remains of deflagrations in the hands.
The result would be decisive. Bertolotti always maintained - before the policies that they consult outside the judicial process - that “my old men were shot”. That someone entered the house from the bottom and attacked them. That also related to some neighbors who approached in the midst of the commotion: "They entered and shot them to my old men," he repeated.
Another fundamental contribution will be that of the teacher Santoro. In health sources they told Clarín that the woman is recovering from the injuries but is not in a position to be interrogated. “He is under psychiatric treatment and with a containment team. You can't talk about what happened that night yet, ”was the response Menucci received from the hospital.
The prosecutor also summoned a cousin from Bertolotti whom the defendant called several times the night of the murder. He is a man, an employee of a company in La Plata, said he once had a Glock. And - in coincidence with other neighbors consulted from the prosecution - Bertolotti's cousin said the family relationship was "very good."
That is, Menucci does not get a data that brings it closer to the motive of the alleged parricide. “Everything is very closed. It's a great puzzle, ”admitted Clarín judicial sources.
