Late last night, the Knesset began counting 330,000 votes in the double envelopes.

The largest number of voters in double envelopes are IDF soldiers who vote in their units or training areas. Also, voters in double envelopes, patients staying in hospitals as well as official representatives of Israel abroad and their families voting at Israeli embassies around the world.

This long list of voters also joined this year 4,076 people who are in solitary confinement in their homes due to the Corona virus. The Election Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, was able to organize within four days to set up tents and train special MDA teams to serve as ballot secretaries and receive voters at the designated polling stations.

Today, after the counting of votes in the double envelopes, the counting of the "Corona Ballot" will begin. The voting envelopes of the people who were in isolation were kept at the logistics center of the Election Commission in Shoham. The count will take place in a secluded tent in the Knesset plaza by the staff of the Central Election Committee, which has several dozen people, chaired by the committee's executive director, Orly Ades. Members of the ballot committees will be shielded with masks and gloves to prevent them from being exposed to the corona virus.

Yesterday at noon, all polling stations ended, except for the double envelopes. In total, voting votes were counted in 10,305 polling stations, accounting for 97% of all polling stations. In these polls, 4,156,479 of the voters actually voted. An Election Commission spokesman said there were still 310 ballots left for testing, which are estimated to have about 100,000 ballots. At 250 polling stations the completion of the examination and control of the forms is required, at 40 polling stations additional protocol scanning is required, and 20 other polling stations have undergone a thorough examination of the purity of the elections.
