Boris Johnson responds to coronavirus treatment
(CNN) - Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson was transferred Thursday "from intensive care to a ward, where he will be closely monitored during the first phase of his recovery," Downing Street said in a statement.
"He is in a very good mood," the statement added.
As of Monday, Johnson has been in an intensive care unit in London after his coronavirus-symptom condition has worsened, his office reported. The prime minister was treated with oxygen, but without the help of a ventilator, according to Michael Gove, minister in the Cabinet Office.
Johnson was first admitted to St Thomas Hospital in London on Sunday night for what he said were "routine tests," after his coronavirus symptoms persisted 10 days after testing positive.
