The COVID-19 epidemic killed an additional 619 people in Italy on Saturday, up from 570 the previous day, and an additional 4,694 cases were reported, while 3,951 were reported on Friday. The daily numbers of deaths and new cases are the highest since April 6 and April 4, respectively.

The Italian balance sheet of the epidemic, now the second in the world after that of the United States, amounts to 19,468 dead, according to the Civil Protection.
The number of confirmed cases is 152,271, which places the Peninsula in the third world rank behind the United States and Spain.

The number of intensive care patients also went from 3,497 to 3,381 between Friday and Saturday. It was the eighth consecutive daily decline. The number of healings also went from 30,455 to 32,534.
