Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has condemned the American attempts to extend the arms embargo to Iran.

In a tweet on his Twitter page today, Zarif wrote in response to the plans of US officials weeks ago regarding extending the embargo on Iran that America, which is at the forefront of arms exporters and the largest in military spending in the world, is now concerned about the abolition of the arms embargo on Iran .. According to one of the provisions of International Resolution 2231, which entered into force from 2016, a ban was imposed on Iran that prevented it from purchasing offensive weapons, and this period expires in October 2020.

Last Wednesday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that Washington was seeking to extend the arms embargo on Iran, and if it had not succeeded, it would "study any other possibility."
