Today, in cooperation with the people, firefighters put out a number of fires in separate areas of the governorate, and some of them damaged fruit trees and field crops.
The commanding officer of the Sadaq Fire Brigade, Alaa Imad, told a SANA reporter that in cooperation with the Civil Defense, the Directorate of Agriculture, the Water Corporation, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers, a large fire was extinguished in the area of Nimra al-Qarya, which resulted in the burning of about 700 dunums planted with olive trees, almonds, grapes and dry herbs.
Imad stated that a fire was also controlled in cooperation with the people in the area of Kharab Arman al-Haq, a large number of grape trees were damaged, in addition to controlling a fire in the village of Dibbin, near the border with Jordan, during which dry grass was burnt.
The Suwayda fire extinguishing unit, according to the commanding officer of the group, Yahya Darwish, dealt with several fires, including between Al-Thawla and Al-Aslah lands, causing damage to 15 dunums planted with wheat, as well as west of Rasas, east of the landfill, which led to the damage of 10 dunums of wheat.
Dozens of fires erupted recently in the Governorate of As-Suwayda with varying areas of dry herbs, some of which damaged thousands of dunums of agricultural lands, field crops, fruit trees, and forests in separate locations in the governorate before the firefighting teams, the concerned authorities, and the people could extinguish them.
