A source close to the file affirmed, this Wednesday July 15, that a man, placed in police custody for drunkenness, was found hanged in his cell at the gendarmerie of Tréport, in Seine-Maritime.

The source said the man, who was in his sixties, was agitated and placed in a cell around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening for overt drunkenness. At the check carried out around 01:30 / 02:00 in the morning, the man was found hanged with an elastic band or a cord which could come from the shorts he was wearing, it was said.
Requested by AFP Wednesday morning, the Dieppe prosecution had not communicated at the start of the afternoon.
