As of Friday at 14:00, Israel is entering a three-week closure with an option to extend the restrictions for an additional period of time.

A situation assessment will be held two weeks from the start of the closure, after which the government will require approval to extend the restrictions.

Leaving the house will be allowed in order to stock up on food and medicine (even for a distance of more than 500 meters), to the workplace, to prayer and to other needs that will be specified in the regulations.

.

Here are questions and answers in the areas of education, transportation and prayers during the holidays during the closure.

Education

The special education kindergartens continue as usual?

Is this a final decision?

During the closure period, the government excluded the educational activities of special education students and the activities of children and youth at risk - so they are supposed to act.

However, the teachers' union opposes this and claims that it endangers the teaching staff.

Will there be distance learning?

Yes.

With the entry of the closure, on days of learning (excluding holidays) there will be distance learning in all age groups.

It should be noted, however, that the parents' leadership strongly opposes this and threatens not to cooperate so that the school days will be fully reinstated after the closure.

What will distance learning look like in the lower classes?

The Ministry of Education has not yet published the full outline.

Is an absence from a zoom class considered a "normal" absence?

Yes.

The Ministry of Education has stated that this year it will enforce the Compulsory Education Act to ensure that the student takes an active part in the learning process.

Schools will check attendance and address the issue accordingly.

The Ministry of Education notes that as long as there is always a justifiable reason for absence, he will settle the matter with the school.

What about parental payments for daycare?

The Ministry of Education still has no clear answers.

However, in the first wave he announced that parents would be reimbursed for services they did not receive.

Will daycare centers for births up to 3 work during the closure period?

No.

They are part of the education system and will therefore remain closed.

Chief Rabbi David Lau ordered not to carry out the custom of dumping near water sources due to the fear of crowds.

It can also be said in the distance. "

I'm in isolation, what do you do with shofar blasts?

Rabbi Yitzchak Neria, Rosh Yeshivat Torah in Zion, explains that a person is unable to perform the mitzvah duty by blowing an independent shofar.

"This regulation is only in public. You will hear the blowing of the shofar when they come to blow you out of the window or the stairwell."

Hot outside and impossible to pray for long hours, is it possible to shorten the prayer?

The answer is an unequivocal yes.

Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef emphasizes that "tunes and piyyutim should be shortened and not lengthened."

Also, the rabbi's sermon should be shortened as much as possible.

Rabbi Yuval Sherlow also wants to remember the people with disabilities and special needs and adapt the prayer to them in the courtyard quorum.

"Necessary solutions: attention, shading, shortening the prayer in the field of piyyutim and other places that in such a year should be skipped."

When blowing the shofar, there is a fear of spitting saliva.

there is a solution?

Rabbi Yosef Zvi Rimon, rabbi of the Beit Midrash at the Lev Academic Center, rules that the shofar should be covered with a mask (on the large side) to prevent infection.

"A greater distance must be maintained between the piercer and the hearers. If one is afraid of the saliva coming out of the mouthpiece, it is permissible to turn it downwards."

Will public transportation operate during the closure?
