The Tölzer Christkindlmarkt has been canceled.
A substitute offer should at least create a little pre-Christmas mood in the spa town.
After the cancellation of the Tölzer Christkindlmarkt, the city presented the replacement program.
Four to six gastronomic stands planned in Marktstrasse and Nockherplatz.
"Winter village" is being considered at the Kurhaus.
Bad Tölz -
mulled wine, bratwurst, atmospheric ambience, plus a cozy chat: all of this is an integral part of the
pre-Christmas season
for many people
-
but this year it will look significantly different
in
Bad Tölz
than usual. The
Christmas market
was canceled as reported.
The city is now planning a limited alternative offer suitable for corona, as
Mayor Ingo Mehner
explained in a press conference on Thursday.
Corona alternative to Advent: Application for stand operators is ongoing
For example, the city wants to designate
special-use areas
in
Marktstrasse
, on which at least four to six catering
stands
can be set up.
"You can feel that there is
still a lot of demand for
free
bar space
among many people
," said
Mehner
.
That is why the city wants to make it possible to meet during
Advent
to eat
a
bratwurst
outside
or
drink
a
mulled wine
.
Two more such stands are to be
set up
at
Nockherplatz
.
The deputy
spa director Susanne Frey-Allgaier
reported that the
application process
for the selection of the
stand operators was ongoing
.
“We are writing to all
restaurateurs
who have applied for
stands
at the
Christmas market
.” The
stands
would probably be
admitted from November 27th to December 24th,
Mehner
said, but possibly only from Thursday or Friday to Sunday.
At the request of the “Wir für Tölz” business association, two
huts
are also
planned where customers can have their purchased
gifts
wrapped.
For that, it
tends to be too tight
under the
Corona maximum limit
n in the shops.
Corona alternative to Advent: Music and ice stock sport at the Kurhaus
A
“winter village” at the Kurhaus
with a maximum of ten huts with a little trade as well as partial and full catering is also being considered, according to the
mayor
.
There will also be two
ice stock rinks
there, and the existing
pavilion
can be used for musical performances.
According to
Mehner
, the
cancellation of the
Christmas market
was
inevitable because the event area would have had to be separated from the public space.
“It would have been like a cage in the city.” Compliance with the
mask requirement
at the
Christmas market
was “unthinkable”.
