A fatal traffic accident occurred in Sai Kung where a fire engine killed a cyclist.
The incident occurred at 1:52 this afternoon (6th). According to a video circulating on the Internet, a fire-fighting ladder truck drove along Saigon Highway towards Kowloon and reached an upslope off Pak Sha Wan. On the left, he knocked down a bicycle slowly uphill on the left and shook to the private car parked beside the road.
The fire truck continued to shovel the pedestrian path and crashed and stopped behind the roadside railing.
After the foreign male cyclist was crashed, he and his car were caught under the fire truck.
Firemen worked together to rescue him, but he was severely injured and unconscious. He was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for emergency treatment. The ambulancemen carried out emergency rescue for him.
The fire truck and private car drivers also expressed discomfort and needed to be sent to hospital for treatment.

The police investigated the cause of the accident at the scene.
At the scene, fire trucks swept several meters of anti-collision barriers and pedestrian railings.
The bicycle involved was still stuck on the bottom of the fire truck, the frame was hit and deformed, and a pool of blood was left on the bottom of the vehicle. The deceased’s personal belongings, including a pocket, were scattered all over the place.
The right body of the hit private car was badly damaged.
The police seized passports and belongings suspected to belong to the deceased.
Sources at the scene stated that the 60-year-old man was a Colombian national and was living in a community center in Saigon.
According to the Transport Department, due to a traffic accident, the Saigon Highway towards Kowloon near Pak Sha Wan has implemented a one-lane two-way operation, and the site is currently congested.
