According to the police, the male police officer felt unwell last Thursday and went to a government clinic for medical treatment on the same day. After testing, he was informed today that he was positive for COVID-19.
The police officer had no travel history in the past 14 days. He also wore a mask during his contact with the public. His last working day was last Friday.
Have close contact with police officers to be quarantined
The police said that pending further evaluation and recommendations by the Department of Health, police officers and civilians who may be in close contact with the police officer were arranged to undergo quarantine and virus testing.
After learning of the initial confirmed news, the police immediately notified the Judiciary to send staff to clean and disinfect the police officer's work area.
