The police announced that a 43-year-old female police officer stationed in the New Territories South Crime Prevention Office was initially diagnosed with COVID-19.
She felt unwell on Monday (7th) and went to a government clinic for medical treatment. After a preliminary test, she was informed today that she was positive for the new coronavirus.
She had no travel history in the past 14 days, nor did she conduct any work in contact with the public. The last day she went to work was the day before.
The police said that they are highly concerned about the incident. Police officers and civilians who may be in close contact with the police officer are all arranged to undergo quarantine and virus testing before awaiting further assessment and advice from the Department of Health.
The police will send staff to clean and disinfect the relevant work area of the police officer.
