And the extensive campaigns that publicized these useful innovations to customers have hit the mark.
Sir Jacky Stewart once told me that he bought a Rolex Day-Date because it was THE luxury brand to own.
He still remembered their ad showing the United Nations building in New York with the words
"if you were to speak here tomorrow, you would be wearing a Rolex."
He didn't have to speak to the UN, but after his first major victory, he bought a gold Day-Date with the amount of his prize.
