Italy recorded 10,405 new infections with the Coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to 2038759.
According to the American World Meters website, specializing in global statistics, the total number of deaths from the Corona virus in Italy increased to 71,620, after 261 deaths were recorded during the past hours.
The Italian health authorities also announced that six people had been infected with the mutated strain of the emerging corona virus, after their arrival in the country from London, so that the number of infections with this strain exceeded ten.
These injuries belong to travelers who were tested at Capodichino Airport in Naples, before the suspension of flights from the United Kingdom earlier this week.
And according to a study prepared by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, its results overlap with estimates by researchers in the group that advises the British government that the mutated strain may be contagious by up to 70 percent compared to other circulating strains.
In turn, Britain recorded 34,693 new infections with the new Corona virus during the past twenty-four hours, bringing the total number of infections to 2256005.
The British Ministry of Health stated that 210 deaths were also recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 70,405.
Thus Britain has the sixth largest death toll in the world after the United States, Brazil, India, Mexico and India.
