A serious truck accident at the Sindelsdorf motorway junction kept the emergency services on their toes on Tuesday afternoon.

The B472 had to be closed for hours.

Sindelsdorf - As the police report, a 48-year-old Freihunger left the A95 motorway at the Sindelsdorf junction in his truck at around 1:45 p.m.

When he wanted to turn left towards Habach, he overlooked the right-of-way truck belonging to a 58-year-old Bulgarian who was traveling on the B472 federal highway towards Bad Tölz.

There was a collision in which both trucks were seriously damaged.

The two drivers were lucky in misfortune.

The person who caused the accident was uninjured; according to initial findings, the Bulgarian driver only suffered bruises in the chest area.

He was treated on site by the emergency doctor and then taken to hospital by the emergency services.

Rescue was complicated

After the accident, the recovery of the two trucks was complex - with consequences for traffic.

The federal highway had to be completely closed so that the two involved trucks could be removed by the towing service.

“We had to request two large tow trucks, it was really complicated,” says Robert Denisow, operations manager for the Sindelsdorf fire department.

The Habach, Sindelsdorf and Penzberg fire departments were on duty, taking care of the spilled operating materials and cordoning off the scene of the accident.

The Weilheim road maintenance department set up a diversion.

According to Denisow, because one of the trucks involved was a civilian Bundeswehr vehicle, military police were also on site, which made the whole thing even longer.

The closure could only be lifted again around 6 p.m.

According to the police, total damage to the vehicles amounted to around 40,000 euros.
