Bremen (dpa) - Bremen's former goalkeeper Frank Rost has criticized Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt with clear words. "The coach explains all the stuff, it comes across as very old-fashioned," said the 46-year-old former international to Sky.
"Now Clemens Fritz has been brought in, you should let him do it all right away. He is a good man. This also shows a little that you are at the end of your Latin when you use such chess moves."
Werder's former captain Fritz, who heads the scouting department for the North Germans, went to the team training camp before the game at RB Leipzig (Saturday, 3:30 p.m. / Sky) at Kohfeldt's request.
"Ultimately, they have to win in Leipzig. If they get a shower now and lose significantly, then Kohfeldt can no longer be held," said Rost. Kohfeldt has been verbally supported in Bremen for weeks and is not open to public discussion at the penultimate table in the Bundesliga.
Defensive performance is particularly frightening for Rost, who played for Werder between 1992 and 2002. "I think the defenses are more like a second division team in terms of tactics and football," he says.
