  • FC Memmingen stops ticket sales for the Toto Cup game against TSV 1860 Munich.
  • The home game in the Grünwald stadium against MSV Duisburg threatens to be canceled.
  • The top game against the league leaders is seen as a trend-setting battle

Update from March 9, 8:49 pm: TSV 1860 Munich could be affected by the decision of the Free State: Events with more than 1000 guests should be prohibited in the Free State of Bavaria until Good Friday.

Particularly bitter: The absolute top game of the 3rd league against MSV Duisburg is on Saturday, March 14th.

The following games in the Grünwald stadium could also be affected:

1860 Munich - Würzburger Kickers - Sat, March 21, 2 p.m.

1860 Munich - Hansa Rostock - Saturday, April 4, 2 p.m.

Coronavirus: Memmingen stops ticket sales for cup game against lions

Memmingen / Munich - FC Memmingen has temporarily suspended further ticket sales for the Bavarian Cup semi-final on March 31 against TSV 1860 Munich. "Of course, we are closely following the current development regarding the Corona virus and the recommendations for events that are currently being made," said FCM President Armin Buchmann "Distance in the rows of spectators is".

FC Memmingen improves conditions

A good 2,500 cards for home use have already been sold. At 1860 Munich, the advance sale for a maximum of 1,100 tickets for the guest block is still ongoing. The arena has a capacity of 5,000 visitors. According to the current pre-sale status, this would leave about a third of the standing room free.

In consultation and with the support of the city of Memmingen, the sanitary conditions for the cup game in the arena will be significantly improved. Sufficient toilets and hand washing facilities will be available for the standing room area.

Purchased tickets remain valid - return is not possible

It remains to be seen whether the corona situation will worsen in the coming weeks and whether larger events in Bavaria will have to be canceled or relocated. As a result, the health authorities and the Bavarian Football Association are no longer responsible for this anyway. Purchased tickets are currently valid and cannot be returned.

If the situation relaxes and can be played with a full arena, ticket sales will continue. Sport1 will broadcast the game on television. A "ghost game" without fans is not an option for the FCM, because according to Buchmann, the financial losses would be fatal in view of the tickets that have already been sold and sponsorship packages have been completed.

Last Saturday the FCM played its point game against TSV Aubstadt with 574 spectators as planned and without any problems. The next regional league home game on March 20 against SV Wacker Burghausen will - as of today - take place quite normally.
