TSV 1860 Munich captain, Felix Weber speaks in an interview about training at home, contact with trainer Michael Köllner, and about his home club SV Ohlstadt.

Ohlstadt - Football is currently resting throughout Germany. For Felix Weber, 25-year-old third division professional and captain at TSV 1860 Munich, this means above all: individual instead of team training. How the Ohlstädter keeps fit during the corona pandemic and what plans he makes for the future, he reveals in the detailed Tagblatt interview.

Mr. Weber, are you getting bored at home?

No, definitely not (laughs). We train twice a day. We also currently have a construction site at home, so there is plenty to do.

How can you imagine your training sessions?

We have video training every morning at nine o'clock. Our fitness coach sets the exercises and we players do them at home on the webcam. In the afternoon we do runs that the trainer team gives us.

Doesn't sound like training that a soccer player loves.

No, definitely not. I've never been walking so much in my life. The ball on the foot is missing.

Is there currently contact to trainer Michael Köllner?

Yes, he calls the players regularly. We don't really talk about sporting things, he asks if we and our families are doing well.

In view of the current situation, do you even believe that the game will resume this season?

I already assume that we will end the season. We'll see if we have to play without spectators every three days.

In 2017 you already played a ghost game in the Regionalliga against Nürnberg II. What memories do you have of that?

Not nice ones. The strangest thing is that only your teammates and the substitute bench are happy when the team scores a goal. The fans are missing enormously.

Since April 1, the TSV 1860 has also registered short-time work for you and your teammates. How do you feel about it?

The association came up to us and asked whether a model in which we forego around 20 percent of our salary would be okay for us. Everyone immediately agreed. At times like this, I think that's right and natural.

In November, trainer Daniel Bierofka resigned. He was considered your sponsor, made you a captain and regular player. Are you still in contact with him?

Immediately after the resignation we had contact. In the meantime a little less, now and then we write with each other.

About football issues?

Sure, Biero is always about football (laughs).

What are the differences between Bierofka and your new trainer Michael Köllner?

We trained harder under him, which is not meant negatively. The training was designed differently in one point or another, so it was of course a change for me after the long time with Biero.

You weren't under Michael Köllner lately.

The past few weeks have not been easy for me. I don't feel comfortable in the role of a substitute. Michael Köllner talks to me a lot. Of course, we are not always of the same opinion. I have no choice but to step on the gas in every training session.

Your contract expires on June 30th. Are there currently discussions about an extension?

The talks are currently on hold, as the club doesn't know what to do next. We spoke before the forced break, but we haven't made any groundbreaking decisions yet.

Before the Corona break, you were undefeated with the Lions 14 games in a row.

The spirit of optimism was evident in the team. Of course, the chemistry within the team is good when things are going so well.

How do you rate your personal development in recent years?

Even if more is possible, of course, I'm satisfied. The promotion to the third division 2018 was of course the highlight. I often watch the videos on my cell phone. My first year in professional football was also good, as was the first half of the season.

How often do you get to support your local club, SV Ohlstadt, on site?

Whenever I have free time and there are no important things to do in Munich. I know all the players, even though I switched to the Lions when I was nine. I used to play with Klaus Zach and Matthias Kaindl when I was young, with the little ones.
