The SSC Napoli has sat at the top of the table in Group F of the Europa League.
The Italian club won 2-0 (1-0) against Croatian representatives HNK Rijeka, who were still without points.
The goals were scored by Matteo Politano (41st) and Hirving Lozano (75th).
The game, however, became a minor matter for many Neapolitans.
Diego Maradona was the dominant theme around the stadium.
In memory of the football legend, Naples players entered the stadium on Thursday evening with the number 10 on their back and the name of the former Napoli star.
There was also a minute's silence before kick-off for the Argentine, whose picture was on the scoreboard of the empty stadium.

Maradona had played for the southern Italian club for eight years.
He was not under contract with any other club for longer.
With Napoli, Maradona won two Italian Serie A titles (1987 and 1990) and the 1989 UEFA Cup. The Argentine died on Wednesday at the age of 60.
