Serious falls in the women's giant slalom.
Ski superstar Petra Vlhova hits her back and head and is taken away on the rescue sled - her season is over.

The dire fears have come true.
Ski superstar Petra Vlhova was seriously injured in her fall.
The Olympic champion tore a ligament in her right knee in the first giant slalom round at her home World Cup in Jasna, Slovakia, which means her season ended prematurely.
This was confirmed by her coach Mauro Pini.
“I will fight to return as soon as possible,” Vlhova said.
A decision about an operation will be made in the next few days.
Incidentally, the Swedish Sara Hector won the race ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin and Alice Robinson.

Meanwhile, the Kitzbühel descent also became emotional with tears after Thomas Dreßen's last run.

As Vlhova's team announced, she was taken to the hospital for examinations: “Due to the fall in the first round of the giant slalom at the World Cup in Jasna, Petra was transported to the hospital and she was stabilized.
Petra is currently undergoing medical examinations.” An exact diagnosis was initially pending.
Numerous other top athletes had major problems with the “Lukova 2” route in the Lower Tatras, with some seemingly grotesque deficits.
