After the books, Gabriel Matzneff's personal belongings. The writer's Parisian home, targeted by a preliminary investigation opened by the Paris public prosecutor's office for "rapes of minors under 15 years of age", was searched on Thursday by investigators from the Central Office for the Suppression of Violence people (OCRVP), Le Parisien learned from a judicial source.
This is the first search of the writer's home in Italy since the Matzneff affair broke out. The police are looking for documents written by the controversial 83-year-old author, which would not necessarily have been published or the passages which would have been redacted from his publications, in particular on sexual relations with minors.
Gallimard search
Already on Wednesday, investigators of the judicial police had carried out a search in the Paris premises of the publisher Gallimard. For several hours the police were mainly interested in the computers of proofreaders and proofreaders of the prestigious publishing house. According to our information, the police notably seized two computers, as well as a box of documents with manuscripts. Investigators did not find a safe on site.

The police are also taking a close look at the profile of Christian Giudicelli, close to the writer and member of the reading committee of Gallimard, who accompanied him on his trips to the Philippines during which Matzneff boasts of having abused young boys. . But no computer belonging to Giudicelli could be seized: he does not use it. Aged 78, this close friend of Matzneff corrected some of the writer's works and could have been aware of his possible actions towards minors.
