INTERVIEW - Dr Catharina Boehme heads an international NGO which is cooperating with WHO to assess Covid 19 tests. She is alarmed by the delay in screening for the disease.


Dr. Catharina Boehme heads the NGO Find, a foundation for innovative diagnostics that works with the World Health Organization to assess Covid-19 tests and bring them to poor countries. She takes stock of the difficulties encountered by many countries, including France, to increase the rate of coronavirus screening.

LE FIGARO.- What inspires you from this Covid-19 pandemic?

Dr Catharina BOEHME .- I followed several epidemics that of MERS in 2012, of Ebola in 2014 and of Zika in 2016. Of course, the current crisis is different in its planetary dimension. It goes beyond my worst nightmares. In the diagnosis, we have never experienced such a situation with dramatic breaks in the supply of tests.
