LE FIGARO. - Where are we in resuscitation services?
Pr Éric MAURY. - We have the feeling that the number of artificial respirators and places in intensive care will never be enough. In the Great East, my colleagues report to me that they put 10 or 15 patients on ventilation every day in each hospital. Usually, in my 18-bed service, we make 3 to 4 patient admissions per day, and they only stay 4 to 5 days ... But Covid patients stay 2 or 3 weeks. The military field hospital deployed in Mulhouse relieved 20 patients, but the patients continued to arrive at the same rate. The TGV TGV has transferred patients to Angers, Nantes, Le Mans, but some of these structures are starting to be cramped and my colleague from Mulhouse told me yesterday that he had still placed 16 new patients on artificial respiration in the day. There are many more admissions than exits.
