General practitioners at the heart of concerted screening

Screening is never mandatory. It is up to the patient to decide after discussion of the advantages and disadvantages with his doctor.


The field of screening is a priori very broad. According to the World Health Organization, "screening consists in presumptively identifying, by means of tests, examinations or other techniques capable of rapid application, subjects suffering from a past disease or abnormality until then unnoticed .
