A 9 year old child died this Saturday, drowned in the swimming pool of the Moncalm campsite, in Angles, in the Vendée. He arrived around noon with his mother, stepfather and two half-brothers, according to France Bleu. As the family from the North moved in, the boy headed for the pool.
According to the images of the surveillance cameras consulted by the police, he jumps into the water around 12.57 pm. In the images, the police see the boy panicking in the water, six feet deep.
"The importance of supervising children at the pool"
The parents were admitted in shock to the La Roche-sur-Yon Hospital Center. The young child's body was transported to Nantes for an autopsy to verify in particular that he had no illness.
According to remarks reported by France Bleu, the mayor of the commune Joël Monvoisin wishes to recall "the importance of monitoring children at the pool or around a body of water".
