Coronavirus: mandatory masks in France, no compromise on the EU recovery plan

  • Over 600,000 dead worldwide

The number of deaths from Covid-19 has doubled in just over two months. More than 100,000 new deaths have been recorded in 21 days since June 28.

  • Still no compromise for the EU recovery plan

Intense negotiations were still underway on the night of Sunday to Monday between Europeans to try to reach a compromise on a post-coronavirus recovery plan of 750 billion euros. Concordant sources, the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, mediator of the summit, should propose to lower the share of subsidies in the recovery plan to 750 billion euros: 390 billion, against 500 billion in the initial proposal . The rest would be loans.
