This report, "concerning acts of a sexual nature committed on a minor of 15 years in the family", targeted the septuagenarian who

The drama has shaken a whole city, a whole profession. Morgane Nauwelaers, a young psychologist in her thirties, mother of an 18-month-old child, was coldly shot on Wednesday, with a bullet in the head, in her practice located in the city center of Annecy ( Haute-Savoie).

His attacker, a 75-year-old man, had premeditated his action. He arrived around 11 a.m. with a hunting rifle hidden in a bag. He entered the psychologist's office on the 2nd floor of 68, rue Carnot. Morgane Nauwelaers is then with a patient. Determined, the septuagenarian does not hesitate. He's aiming at the psychologist. A shot in the head which can only be fatal. Morgane's husband is present at this time. He is also a psychologist and works with his wife in the same practice. He manages to disarm the aggressor, but it is already too late. Morgane Nauwelaers is in a desperate state.

Transported to Annecy hospital, she died of her injuries in the early afternoon. The shooter leaves quietly, covered in blood. Followed by Morgane's husband. At the exit of the building, the latter shouts to passers-by: "He has just killed my wife!" Witnesses will then follow the attacker to a parking lot where he parked his vehicle. Then block the septuagenarian at the cash desks while awaiting the arrival of the police. The man then recognizes, without emotion, that he "shot a woman".

How did the shooter learn of this report?

But how to explain his determination to execute, in cold blood, this young psychologist of whom he was not even the patient? The investigators of the judicial police, who question the suspect in custody, will not be long in collecting elements which explain the gesture of this married man, who had two children, and lives in Chambéry (Savoie). According to the Annecy prosecutor, Véronique Denizot, the victim, Morgane Nauwelaers, had been planning for ten days to make a report to the authorities, "concerning acts of a sexual nature committed by the septuagenarian on a minor of 15 years in the family" .

Without further clarification from the prosecutor on the alleged victim of these sexual assaults and his family ties with the shooter. The psychologist had even drafted this report the day before her murder. How did the shooter learn about this information? We don't know at the moment. But it is therefore the imminence of this report that would have put the septuagenarian in a mad rage, to the point of triggering his murderous expedition against the psychologist.

"She was only doing her job"

Patrick-Ange Raoult, member of the national union of psychologists, and who practices in Chambéry (Savoie), near Annecy, recognizes that the reports to which psychologists are obliged by law in the context of their activity, can generate tensions : “It is always a delicate context when it comes to acts of sexual assault and incest. We come to touch family secrets and violence is therefore potentially present. This sometimes results in very heated verbal altercations with the people concerned, sometimes in degradations in the offices of psychologists. But not until a form of assassination which undoubtedly relates to a pathological problem at the level of the aggressor. "

Morgane Nauwelaers was greatly appreciated by her patients. “She was very kind, attentive. It's horrible to have attacked her like that. While she was only doing her job, ”testifies a patient who came to drop a bouquet of flowers in front of the building where the tragedy occurred. The shooter, who had never been convicted by the courts, was to be presented to an examining magistrate in order to be indicted, probably for "murder".
