The singer Gidi Gov, who presents a daily program on Tel Aviv radio 102fm, today (Wednesday) called on the radio to boycott the Israel Prize amid the storm that arose due to Education Minister Yoav Kish's decision to cancel it - and then go back and hold it as planned.
"I say, 'Comrades, boycott the Israel Prize,'" said Gov.
"Simply boycott this prize that stood on chicken's knees, wait for the government to be a healthy and good government and for the Israel prize to have some meaning because the prize of a month ago was canceled and they said that they would give out a prize only for what is related to the war and after that they return it..."

Kish announced about a week and a half ago that, contrary to his initial decision, the Israel Awards ceremony will be held this year on Independence Day as usual, and awards will be given to winners in all categories, including the Israel Innovation Award to Waldman, the founder of Mellanox and a senior figure in the Israeli high-tech world, who married his daughter Daniel at the Nova party on October 7.
This, after at the beginning of March Kish ordered the cancellation of the awarding of the award, on the grounds of adapting the ceremony to the war situation.
However, Ben Caspit revealed that the decision to cancel the awards was made after Kish learned of the prize committee's selection of Boldman, who is known to be opposed to the Netanyahu government and the legal revolution, as the winner of the Israel Prize for Innovation.
