The Fiat Multipla was certainly not a beauty.
Nevertheless, the chances of a comeback are not bad.
Visually, the Italians went for retro.
As is well known, design can be discussed excellently.
However, if you ask about the ugliest car of all time, most people will probably say the Fiat Multipla - even if there is a worthy challenger in the Tesla Cybertruck.
Despite or perhaps because of its questionable appearance, the minivan has now achieved cult status.
Even Matthias Malmedie bought a Multipla.
For its 25th birthday, Fiat even gave the minivan a “special model” and announced a new edition.
In the Italian podcast, Fiat boss Olivier François explained that the Multipla could soon celebrate a comeback.
However, no longer as a minivan, but probably as an SUV.
The new edition is likely to be derived from the Citroën C4 Aircross and Opel Frontera.

According to a report by Forococheselectricos,
the third generation of the Multiplas will
have seven seats in three rows (2+3+2).
The third seat between the driver and front passenger is no longer required.
The new one also increases significantly in length and grows to 4.40 meters.
The smart car platform from the parent company Stellantis serves as the basis.
This is also used in the Citroën ë-C3 and is intended to enable cost-effective models.

The platform also has another advantage: Fiat could build the upcoming Multipla as both a combustion engine and an electric car.

Visually, the new Multipla should be based on the Fiat SUV concept presented in February.
This was dubbed the “Giga Panda” by the brand.
Accordingly, it features “a certain retro aesthetic” inspired by the original Panda from the 80s.

According to Fiat, the concept is a spacious SUV with space for the whole family.
“In line with its role as a pioneer of accessible, innovative and sustainable mobility, with this model Fiat once again proves that the needs of families are listened to when developing new vehicles,” said the manufacturer.
It was the same with the Multipla.
Except that it was perhaps too innovative for its time.
