On Saturday, a woman was spotted in the streets of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), half undressed, her skin marked by cigarette burns and her head bleeding, according to the Dépêche du Midi.

The victim, aged 37 and a Romanian national, was taken care of by the emergency services and the police.
She told them about living an ordeal for more than a year, beaten, humiliated and tortured for weeks by her partner, also from Eastern Europe.

The victim, who has since disappeared, did not file a complaint, said the Toulouse public prosecutor's office.
