The 2024 edition of the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) opens with the day dedicated to the press which, as tradition, takes place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on 11th Avenue between 34th and 40th Street. The public will be able to access the Show from March 29th to April 7th, from 10am to 10pm during the week and from 10am to 7pm on Sundays.
Nyias is also affected by the global crisis of these events in the Western world, even if the list of exhibitors is less sparse than events such as the Geneva Motor Show, the Paris Motor Show and the German IAA which is now taking place in Munich.
In fact, in the third level there are Audi, Ford, Chevrolet and GMC, Nissan and Infiniti, Kia, Toyota and Lexus, Subaru, Honda and Acura, Volkswagen, Hyundai and Genesis, Volvo, Lucid and Porsche. On level one the New York International Auto Show is a vast test track for electric cars where - in addition to the installations of some of the manufacturers present in the main hall - there will also be a small Lucid stand. The only presence of Stellantis is the traditional Camp Jeep for outdoor tests on artificial obstacles. The list of new features essentially concerns South Korean manufacturers, with two world premieres of Genesis (Magma and Neolun), some restyling of Hyundai on Santa Cruz and Tucson and the debut of the already announced Kia K4.
Kia won the title of World Car of The Year with the EV9, with the announcement during a ceremony held at the Show.
