A general brawl in the middle of the airport. This Wednesday, March 27, an incident broke out within Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle. Several demonstrators from the Kurdish Democratic Council in France entered Terminal 1 of the airport to protest against the expulsion to Turkey of Firaz Korkmaz, a 24-year-old Kurdish activist under Obligation to Leave French Territory (OQTF). The demonstration, which also brought together elected officials from the French Communist Party, degenerated. Three airport security officers were injured. An investigation was opened and the Kurdish activist was indeed deported to Turkey.

The 24-year-old young man was, according to l'Humanité, arrested before the Council of Europe in Strasbourg last February. He was taking part in a demonstration to obtain information about Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been imprisoned for 25 years. He had since been placed in an administrative detention center in Metz before the decision to deport him to Turkey was taken. But in Turkey, the Kurdish activist risks prison and torture.
