Over the course of two and a half hours, today students from the first secondary school in all governorates competed in the third stage tests `` at the governorate level '' of the Syrian scientific Olympiad for 2019-2020.

The tests conducted by the Excellence and Innovation Commission in cooperation with the directorates of education in the governorates included students qualified from the Zone Qualifiers “Phase II” science “mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and biology” where the questions were placed centrally by the Scientific Committee in the Commission and will be corrected by specialists in each governorate Under the supervision of the relevant Olympic Committee.

The tests included multiple-choice questions about successive scientific problems in order to assess the student's intellectual abilities and the extent to which he studied the proposed solutions, analyzed them and explained their logical and methodological coherence.

SANA's camera accompanied the tests in the quality of the Hashemi high school in Damascus, where the Director of Education, Ghassan Lahham, in a statement to the representative of SANA, the participatory role between the Ministry of Education and the excellence and creativity in order to popularize the culture of the Olympics among students and teachers, noting that the third stage Qualitative and scientific tests that are higher and deeper than the previous phases.

Director of the quality of the Hashemite high school in Damascus Asif Zaidoun considered that the Olympics is a pioneer experiment in Syria to discover the distinguished and care for them, noting that with the beginning of the academic year preparations for the Olympics tests began in coordination with teachers of scientific materials and educational staff, expressing the hope that high school students will achieve advanced positions in the tests Representing Syria in the World Olympics.

Osama Mekdad, a specialist in biology in Damascus, explained that the questions of biology were distributed on several axes, most notably cell, genetics, reproduction, plant and animal sciences, calling on students to work hard to give good results in the next stage.

In interviews with SANA, a number of students expressed their happiness to reach the third stage qualifiers, pointing out their efforts to achieve advanced positions in this season's competitions and join the national teams to participate in international competitions.

A total of 177 male and female students from Daraa from the first grade of secondary school participated in the third phase tests in the center of the second palaces school in the governorate.

In Sweida, 163 students from the first grade competed in the governorate at the martyr Hayel Murshid secondary school. The director of education in the province, Bassam Abu Mahmoud, told SANA's correspondent that he hoped that the governorate will reach the last stage at the national level and represent Syria in international forums and competitions. .

In turn, a number of male and female students taking the exams in As-Suwayda pointed out that the atmosphere of the tests was comfortable and the questions were mostly based on intelligence, research, analysis, conclusion and knowledge.

In Quneitra, the director of education in the governorate, Imad Al-Asaad, said that 43 students participated in the tests within the center of the martyr Adnan Al-Hssian school in Al-Zahra area in Damascus in a positive and comfortable atmosphere.

In Homs, 407 students competed in the exams at the martyr Abdul Hamid Al-Zahrawi, where Nada Asaad, a trainer at the Excellence and Innovation Authority, pointed out the evolution of the level of questions for this year and its comprehensiveness to allow more opportunity to discover the distinguished and promote competition among them.

In Latakia, 270 students participated in the tests at the governorate level.Nabug Yassin, director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad at the Excellence and Creativity Commission, told SANA that this is the most important stage before moving to the central tests in Damascus, indicating that the level of questions is higher than the first and second stages.

For his part, Ali Riahi, coordinator of the Olympics in Lattakia, pointed to the intensive training sessions held for students qualified for the third stage to help them prepare well and direct their abilities to excel and achieve outstanding results.

For her part, Mrs. Sawsan Hassan Suleiman, Director of Martyr Adnan Giloud, spoke about the efforts exerted to ensure a comfortable and suitable atmosphere in the center.

In Tartous, the director of education in the province of Ali Shahoud said that the number of applicants for the tests of the third stage reached 315 students in the five scientific subjects.

For their part, the students expressed satisfaction with the positive atmosphere that prevailed in the progress of the Olympics in all three stages.

In Aleppo, the director of education in the governorate, Ibrahim Maso, told SANA that 191 students participated in the tests with their five specializations.

161 students in Deir Ezzor participated in the exams at the Elias Harb secondary school, according to the director of education in the governorate, Khalil Haj Obeid.

A number of students noted that the Scientific Olympiad is an opportunity for excellence and creativity and that the level of questions needs more focus.

In Hasakah, 51 students took the exams, according to the director of education in the province Ilham Sourkhan, who confirmed that the tests of the third phase focused on measuring the level of intelligence of the student and his ability to study the proposed solutions and analysis and explain the interdependence among them.

And succeeds to the last stage of the Syrian scientific Olympiad of the top 50 students in the tests today in accordance with the sequence of deserved grades after the integration of the results of all the provinces in one specialty.
