David Calhoun, CEO of Boeing, presents the 2023 results this Wednesday. On January 5, an emergency exit blocked by a so-called “stopper” door broke away from the fuselage of an Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9.

The plane had to turn around and make an emergency landing, with its 171 passengers and six crew members safe and sound. This serious incident once again highlights quality control failures at Boeing. It comes after the discovery, in 2023, of new defects and poor workmanship on Max, such as poorly drilled holes in a pressurization partition.
