The businesses of the north are collapsing due to the evacuation and complete stop of tourism. Business owners in the north were surprised to discover that in the settlements that were not evacuated, the self-employed owners stopped receiving compensation as of January.
"We live in the shadow of the war, we would die to continue working without receiving compensation, but it doesn't seem close," says Tzachi Eliyahu, leader of the independent protest in the Galilee. "This coming Monday we will go up to the Knesset and the residents of the Galilees will demonstrate," he says.
