The businesses of the north are collapsing due to the evacuation and complete stop of tourism which affects a number of businesses: B&Bs, restaurants, shops and more.

The business owners in the north were surprised to discover that in the settlements that were not evacuated, the self-employed owners stopped receiving compensation as of January, even though the routine of life came to a complete halt in these settlements as well.

Tzachi Eliyahu, the leader of the independence protest in the Galilee, told in an interview with Radio North 104.5 that "our daily routine in settlements that are up to nine kilometers from the border and a little more, is of missiles, launches, exits, military forces and tanks in our territories, full of soldiers. This is our situation and reality."

According to him, "The Minister of Finance decided that in January-February he will stop the compensation plan for us. Empty guesthouses do not receive compensation, restaurants, the construction industry is dying here and there is no one to talk to. There is no compensation from January for businesses that were not evacuated."

According to Eliyahu, he went up to the Knesset and tried to talk about the issue with the Minister of Finance, but the latter did not agree: "We tried to talk to the Minister, there is no one to talk to. I met him physically in the Knesset, I went to a faction meeting and he ran away from me even though he knows who I am and for what purpose I came Talk to him. This coming Monday we will go up to the Knesset and the residents of the Galilee and the businessmen of the Galilee will demonstrate."

And what do you demand?

"Get to know us. We live in the shadow of the war, we would die to continue working without receiving compensation, but it doesn't seem close. If we could drag out a month or two months and move on - yes. But it's not going to be short.

"Things happen that are not announced in the news except for missiles and interceptions that I I will not go into detail about them for security reasons.

But it's going to be long, the holidays are ahead - Purim, Pesach, Shavuot.

Usually the north flourishes, if we reach Shavuot and Independence Day without an arrangement, hundreds if not thousands of businesses will collapse."
