"The Wheel of Time" is a fantasy novel cycle by American author Robert Jordan. The book series was first published in 1990 by Tor Books.

After the death of Robert Jordan in 2007, the wish of his widow and editor Harriet McDougal was respected. The novel cycle based on Jordan's own notes was completed by AmericanAuthor Brandon Sanderson in 2013. With a total of 15 volumes, including the prequel "New Spring", and a content of 4,410,036 words, "The wheel of time" is one of the most extensive works in the history of literature.
