Ten penitentiary police officers on duty at the Foggia prison were issued with a precautionary custody order under house arrest on charges of torture. The suspects are held responsible for having participated in various capacities in a violent beating, carried out on 11 August 2023.
During the investigations, the preparation and signing of false documents aimed at hiding the violence committed was discovered. Threats and promises of retaliation were also ascertained through which two suspects forced the victims to sign false declarations in which they provided a version of events denied by the results of investigations.
