The Agricultural Show will celebrate its sixtieth anniversary against the backdrop of a deep agricultural crisis. Inaugurated in 1964 by Edgard Pisani, the “ commercial showcase ” of French agriculture quickly became the ‘ sounding board ’ for peasant grievances.

“ The situation we are experiencing in 2024 is nothing new,” assures the event’s head, Jean-Luc Poulain, who has headed the event for sixteen years. The event has lost none of its popularity, despite the decline of agriculture.
