A new variant of Xylella identified in the Bari area. The variant was found on six almond trees.
Today the Agriculture Department will sign an order to fell the infected trees. New tests will be carried out on the plants within 800 metres of the trees in Triggiano, in the province of Bari. The discovery highlights the great work we are doing in Puglia. We carry out checks and sampling in over one hundred sites, and this discovery is the result of this challenging but effective work.
