Gas and oil heating systems are to be abolished in the future. The aim is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and advance the energy transition.
The installation of gas heating systems is not completely prohibited – not even from 2024. Gas heating systems that have already been installed are not affected by this and may continue to be used from 2024, says heating engineer thermondo. The German government wants to offer financial support to consumers who decide to have their existing gas heating system replaced or converted to renewable energy.
