Banknotes bearing the image of King Charles III will be put into circulation in June. The new notes will replace those that are worn out and to respond to demand.
The portrait of the king will appear on the existing models of the four British notes. At the beginning of December 2022, 50 pence coins bearing the profile of Charles III had already appeared in the wallets of the British. The general public will also be able to exchange a limited value of current or old notes for new Charles III notes, through the Bank of England.
