In the 2023 edition, the event is entitled 'Protect the protest', to remind us that the LGBTQIA+ community was born in the struggle. It also marks the twentieth anniversary of the law allowing same-sex marriage in Belgium.
The 'Brussels, Belgian and European Pride' also houses a float decorated with three thousand European flags, a wish of the European Parliament to show democracy in action. "Everyone should be able to be whatever they want, anywhere in the world," says a spokesperson for Brussels Pride.
